TRIP TO THE
MOON to perform at the COEXISTENCE exhibition
26/01/06 19:48
The COEXISTENCE exhibition is an outdoor
poster art exhibition that is composed of visual images of coexistence
created by artists from around the world. It consists of 44 huge
posters, each addressing the notion of tolerance - posters to provoke
thought and inspire positive communication among people of different
cultures. Originating at the Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem in 2006
and since then travelling the world, this free exhibition will be in
Auckland from Saturday 11th of February until Sunday 5th of March 2006.
The posters will be on display in the Britomart Precinct behind the train station in Downtown Auckland, where the Britomart carpark will be transformed into an outdoor chillout area - the “Britomart Green” - complete with real grass, plants and outdoor furniture, where people will be able to congregate, enjoy the exhibition, discuss and think about the issues it raises.
There will also be a performance space with live music in the afternoons on the weekends of the exhibition. Here TRIP TO THE MOON will perform a two hour set of laid back instrumentals on two occasions:
Saturday
25th February at 2 pm
Sunday 5th March at 12 noon
The exhibition is being brought to Auckland
by Heart of Auckland City (HOT City).
